Theories From the Old World

Ah, it seems as though your curiosity is as insatiable as mine! Let me think... hm... Come to think of it, there is another thing you can assist me with while I take down my observations about the Corrupted.

A treatise from the Old World, "De Magnete", deals with theories of magnets, and suggests the existence of a new and unique 'fifth essence'. Here in this strange land, I propose to put these theories to the test. To do so, I must have magnets of the highest quality, the base of which can be found in the iron veins at Letum's Pick to the north. The quality of the iron at the site is high enough that you should be able to locate the Magnetite in almost any iron deposit.

Would you acquire some of this Magnetite for me, so that I may proceed?

Does this 'fifth essence' actually exist? Does azoth affect this essence, or how magnets function? How will they even interact?

Is this land the wellspring of this essence? Could azoth even be this mysterious essence? So many questions to answer! Please, two chunks of Magnetite from the iron veins in Letum's Pick should be plenty for me to begin.

These specimens are quite suitable, yes... I shall have to take some time to prepare them, but that will give me time to write and continue my other experiments. This is so exciting! It has been quite a while since I've been able to focus on pure science for the sake of discovery, rather than finding ways to help with survival here. It is quite a refreshing change of pace.

Oh, yes, here you are. Physical labor can be quite demanding, so a bit of supper should not be unwelcome.
