The Artificer's Quarry

Quest Giver:

Have you seen the mines and cavern systems north of here in Shadowmine? They would be a great source of silver ore for the Settlement... if they weren't overrun by Corrupted. What draws the Corrupted to these mining spots in the first place? I once tried to make an investigation of it with my partner, but she perished along the journey and did not return. I would appreciate it if you bring me back some ore samples from small silver veins you can find to complete our survey.

Progress:

I need to study ore samples from the mines and caverns north of here to determine what's so special about this slice of Everfall that it drew the Corrupted down from their mountain to mine it. Look for smaller silver veins to get the most ore samples.

Finish:

Now I see what's drawn the Corrupted this far south. These ore samples are especially rich with gem shards. Beyond looking pretty, the most practical use for gem shards in Aeternum is the crafting of trinkets used in battle. Could the crafters of the Corrupted be making such trinkets to fuel their war efforts? I shudder to think of the consequences. Thank you for finding this out for me, for now I can rest knowing the mystery is solved.
