Ah, if precious gems aren't really what you dabble in, how about precious metals instead? The Cult of Nuñez was once a thorn in my side, some time ago. They had gold in spades!
Yes, Nuñez amassing followers and turning them lost is a sad story. And, yes, it is tragic that he haunts the mansion grounds for all eternity. But, the Dorado monopoly on gold in Mourningdale was bad for business.
Now is a prime opportunity to regain some of the resources lost to that cult. Go to the cult's mansion, defeat the Padre, may he rest in peace, and take gold medallions from the Padre's Dorado followers. Easy money.
See, gold is an earthly delight. It represents the earthly treasures it can buy. So, why would a self-serving Padre and his cult horde it all? They too couldn't resist the gilded siren song.
These medallions are fine gold, and will melt down quite well. Erasing the legacy of that misleading not-so-holyman will be a favor to Mourningdale. I've seen many people get swallowed up by that cult before the Padre finally turned, so taking his stock and starting anew brings me joy.
I suppose that is the moral thing to do, to right the sins he committed, and maybe even give some of his followers peace. But, doing the moral thing or taking the high road is much easier when there's money to be made doing it.
